Meet Dr. Gaskins
Hello!
My practice focuses on helping individuals like yourself adapt, reflect and cope with struggles in a safe, supportive and reflective environment. I take a holistic approach to care to optimize patient growth and fulfillment. Your therapy will explore the impacts of layers of factors (eg physical health, disability, trauma) that can contribute to how you feel and relate to yourself and others. Let me help you discover your paths to enjoyment, play, acceptance, and peace. I am looking forward to meeting you and working with you and your family.

Academia presents unique challenges that require a solid and sincere understanding of the nuances of studying, working and attempting to thrive in this culture, especially across marginalized identities. I have worked with many graduate students, applicants to graduate school, and professors in academia. I provide therapy in many issues academics commonly struggle with (e.g., imposter syndrome, writers block, setting personal boundaries, work/life balance and parenting, and mentorship).

Therapy is scary. Therapists worry about appearing less competent because they feel like they don’t “have their ish together.” They worry about feeling judged. As a therapist who has been through therapy and who has worked with therapists on their own personal mental health struggles, I can appreciate these worries. I am comfortable and have experience treating clinicians who present with a wide variety of concerns, providing a safe and reflective environment.
